Ferenc Flór
Ferenc Flór
Ferenc Flór (October 10, 1809 – Pest, July 7, 1871) was a physician, medical writer, lieutenant colonel in the Hungarian Army, head of the health department of the Ministry of Defense during the 1848–49 War of Independence, and a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Under his leadership, the Hungarian army's health care system was completed. He introduced numerous methods in military health care that were considered innovative even by international standards. Among other things, the system of field hospitals, frontline and rear medical care, medical examination of recruits, and follow-up treatment of disabled soldiers were organized under his leadership.
I donated this painting to the Flór Ferenc Hospital in Pest County. The painting can be seen in the Flór Room of the hospital.
I think of the staff at the Flór Ferenc Hospital in Pest County with love and gratitude. This painting is a modest gift to thank them for their work.
