The painting was commissioned as a birthday present. It was given to someone who holds Tihany very dear to their heart.

One of Hungary's most beautifully situated settlements, it is a village rich in spectacular scenery and natural features on the Tihany Peninsula, which juts out into Lake Balaton. The Tihany Benedictine Abbey stands in the center of the village.
