Vajdahunyad Castle is located in Budapest's City Park, on Széchenyi Island. The castle was built for the 1896 millennium celebrations with the aim of presenting a thousand years of Hungarian architectural history in three dimensions. The designer, Ignác Alpár, skillfully illustrated the characteristics of the four main styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque.
